The Shore Drive area consists literally of thousands of condominiums, cottages and vacation homes both on and within easy walking distance of the ocean.  Clearly there are far too many to include them all within this website.  So we will focus instead on the hottest, most popular properties and resort communities along Shore Drive.  Obviously, these properties which are in high demand with the better rental histories represent the best buys when units are available.

The resort properties and communities we will be featuring on this site are those in which I have made it a point to really stay on top of.  I've sold units in these properties.  I've shown units in these properties.  I know many of the homeowners who own units in them.  I make it my business to stay on top of the association affairs of these properties and to stay abreast of everything happening with them.  I know the floor plans and which units have the better views.  I'm familiar with the rental histories of the units.  I can tell you the most recent prices for units sold in these properties, even when those properties were sold by someone else. 

The point is when you go to work every day in Shore Drive and you make your living as I do by specializing in properties located along Shore Drive, you gain a distinct advantage over other real estate sales people coming into the area.  I make it my business to know everything that I can possibly find out about every property or resort community within the Shore Drive area.  That's a major reason I have been so successful selling and buying property for people in this area.   Here are some of my favorite resort communities on Shore Drive...

                            A PLACE AT THE BEACH
You'll find several buildings on both sides of Shore Drive called A Place At The Beach.  In fact, there are 6 separate phases each with their own homeowners association.  Some of those phases are even broken down further into more phases.  All A Place At The Beach units regardless of phases are wooden structures designed with similar floor plans optimized to allow each unit as good a view of the ocean as possible.  Here is how to identify each phase and keep each resort separate from the others. 

A PLACE AT THE BEACH I
These wooden structures are located between Pelican's Watch and Sands Ocean Club on the ocean side of Shore Drive.  There are 48 units in this particular phase.  Typically, the floor plans are either 2 bedrooms with 2 baths or 2 bedrooms with 1-1/2 baths.  A number of units underwent conversions from the 1-1/2 baths to the 2 full baths. 

A PLACE AT THE BEACH II
Directly across the street from the ocean behind A Place At The Beach I are the 54 units which comprise A Place At The Beach II.  These units are 2 bedrooms with 1-1/2 baths. 

A PLACE AT THE BEACH III
These units which have 2 bedrooms and 2 baths are located on the oceanside of Shore Drive between Sands Ocean Club and the Brigadune.  There are 3 separate buildings or phases within this complex.  In Phase I, there are 48 total units with 16 units on each of 3 floors running from A through P.  In Phase II, there are 42 units with 14 units on each floor running from A through N.  In Phase III, there are 48 more units with 16 units on each floor running from A through P. 

A PLACE AT THE BEACH IV
This resort complex is located oceanside between the Apache Campground and Maisons-sur-Mer.  There are 3 floors with 22 units each floor, making a total of 66 units. 

A PLACE AT THE BEACH V
Building "A" in this resort is located between A Place At The Beach VI and Pelican's Landing on the ocean side of Shore Drive.  It consists of 36 units with 2 bedrooms and 2 baths.    Building "B" in this resort is located across the street from the ocean.  It has 72 units with 2 bedrooms and 2 baths.

A PLACE AT THE BEACH VI
This resort located between Maisons-sur-Mer and A Place At The Beach V on the ocean side of Shore Drive consists of  30 units which have 2 bedrooms and 2 baths. 

PELICAN'S LANDING
This property is located on both sides of Shore Drive between Building "A" at A Place At The Beach V and Pelican's Watch.  Pelican's Landing and Pelican's Watch offers the only condo units in the entire Shore Drive area with 3 bedrooms and 2-1/2 baths. These are very popular rental units.

PELICAN'S WATCH
Pelican's Watch is located adjacent to Pelican's Landing and also has units on both sides of Shore Drive.  The floor plans and prices are comparable to those of Pelican's Landing.  There are 39 oceanside units and 27 units across the street from the ocean within the Pelican's Watch resort community. 

SHIPWATCH POINTE
These wood structures with under the building parking are located across the street from the ocean behind the Straw Market and General Store.  There are two phases within Shipwatch Pointe.   Phase I consist of 3 floors with 36 units on each floor for a total of 108 units.   The units are 2 bedrooms with 2 baths.  They feature central heat and air, sheetrock walls, with pools, spa and beautiful grounds.  Phase II consists of 3 floors with 31 2-bedroom/2-bath units on each floor for a total of 93 units.  In addition to having an outdoor pool, this Phase also has an indoor pool.  Prices typically run the same in this Phase as they do in Phase I.

GUEST COTTAGE
The Guest Cottage community located across the street from the ocean behind Pelican's Watch offers 2, 3 and 4 bedroom cottages just steps from the beach.  They afford the privacy of a single home with the convenience of condominium living.  The well designed floor plans and generous use of windows invite the cool ocean breezes into these wonderful homes.  There's excellent storage space and enough covered parking for three cars with each home.  Color cable TV, self-cleaning oven, full-size range, refrigerators with ice makers, dishwasher, central heat and air, telephone, dining table, breakfast bar and washer/dryers are standard features of the 3 and 4 bedroom cottages.  There are a total of 89 cottages within this community.

SUMMER COTTAGE
The Summer Cottage community is located across the street from the ocean behind the Pelican's Landing and Guest Cottage resorts.  It consists of a total of 46 units.  Similarly to the Guest Cottage community, the Summer Cottage Community also offers 2, 3 and 4 bedroom cottages.

MARINER'S COVE
Tucked away in its own corner off Shore Drive across the street from the ocean, Mariner's Cove is quiet, secluded and located on a beautiful saltwater marsh.  Just a quick walk to the beach, these condominiums feature a clubhouse, sparkling pool and super location.  Perfect for a weekend getaway or rental property, these beautiful units also make the perfect full-time home.  

SUMMERTREE VILLAGE
These 2-bedroom condominium homes located behind Shipwatch Pointe II are nestled in a beautiful setting filled with trees and a feeling of peaceful seclusion.  Superb amenities include 2 screened porches on each unit which encourage you to sit back and take it easy.  But not for long!  Just minutes from the best restaurants on the beach, world class entertainment, unforgettable golf courses and the Atlantic Ocean, you won't be sitting for long.  Unless, of course, it's beside one of the two swimming pools -- one indoor and one outdoor -- that are perfect for relaxing after a busy day.  Blessed with a rare blend of natural attributes, this resort combines proximity to the beach with a gently rolling terrain on an elevation set well above sea level -- a site not needing Federal Flood Insurance.   With split level buildings designed to conform to the natural contours of the land, Summertree Village rests gracefully on beautifully landscaped and carefully developed choice resort property.  It has an electronically operated security gate.   Parking is plentiful.  There are 108 total units in this property. 

HERON POINT
  
Located behind the Summer Cottage and the Guest Cottage resort
communities, Heron Point consists of 91 total units.  Two pools including an indoor pool and plenty of parking are available with these units.

OCEAN BRIDGE
Located on Shore Drive across the street from the beautiful sandy beaches of the Atlantic Ocean, these 2-bedroom condominiums offer a split bedroom plan that is unique to the area.  A great way to offer couples, adults and families traveling together privacy.  These units are always popular.  With 2 swimming pool and lots of parking, this complex is always in demand.  Located a block from the popular Straw Market, this is an extraordinary investment property or vacation home.  Ocean Bridge has a total of 114 units.   An exceptional value.

MAISONS-SUR-MER

SANDS BEACH CLUB 1&2
Located at the South end of Shore Drive eleven stories high, Sands Beach Club reigns above a long expanse of immaculate beach just east of the renowned Dunes Golf and Beach Club.  Sands Beach Club is a favorite with sports enthusiasts and beach lovers alike.  This resort property features several on-site tennis courts, racquetball, an indoor/outdoor pool, and an oceanfront location, there is no limit to the outdoor fun available to you.  Swim, surf, walk the beach, then cool off in the incredible pool with its ocean views.  Of course, like all Shore Drive resort properties, the Sands Beach Club is only a short drive to several outstanding golf courses and family entertainment venues.  One of the most secluded and private properties on Shore Drive, this condominium complex offers elevators, a coin-operated laundry and fully equipped units.  It has a great restaurant and bar, with full check-in and commercial facilities on-site to service all rental guests.  The Sands Beach Club consists of two separate Phased buildings.  Sands Beach Club I consists of 60 total units and is the smaller and older of the two facilities.   Sands Beach Club II, which includes a covered parking garage and commercial space, consists of 165 total units.

SANDS OCEAN CLUB
Sands Ocean Club's 16-story tower and other facilies features everything expected of a first-class resort condominium community and more, with complete amenities for vacation or conference enjoyment.  An outdoor oceanfront pool and kiddie pool, an indoor, heated oceanfront pool with 2 Jacuzzis, a health and fitness center, including sauna, equipped exercise room, shower and locker facilities all overlooking the outdoor pool and ocean, are just some of the amenities which make this resort so popular.  Sandal's Lounge and Ocean Annie's Beach Bar, a poolside snack bar with live entertainment, offer homeowners, vacationers and locals alike a chance to unwind after a busy day.  There is flexible conference meeting space for groups up to 550 persons.  The sports deck has 2 tennis courts.  The  4-level covered parking deck has an elevator.  Within the Sands Ocean Club itself, there are 6 elevators and laundry facilities for added convenience.  Sands Ocean Club has four fully furnished floor plans, ranging from 1-bedroom studios to 3-bedroom, 3-bath villas.

This prestigious Shore Drive resort address encompasses a multitude of amenities.  The center of this totally self-contained community is the Clubhouse-Activity Center which offers indoor and outdoor swimming pools, a restaurant, a lounge, executive meeting facilities, kid's playgrounds, jogging trails and much, much more.  The tennis pavilion has numerous lighted courts.  Each villa is graced with sunken courtyard and heated hydro-spas.  Professionally landscaped grounds embrace the entire area with a gentle natural beauty.  Come.  Listen to the melody of the sea; feel the warmth of the sun on your skin; taste the fresh air of unspoiled virgin forestland.  Experience Arcadian Dunes for a lifetime or a vacation.   It's an impressive real estate value.  There are a total of 240 units within Arcadian Dunes. 

DUNES POINTE
Dunes Pointe offers three distinctive floor plans of 1 bedroom and bath, 2 bedrooms and 2 baths, and 3 bedrooms and 2 baths.  The 3-bedroom models have a handsome staircase to the cozy bedroom left overlooking the spacious living area.  Clerstory windows add to the openness of the high, vaulted ceilings.  A beautiful ceiling fan in the living area and large, screened low country style porches give each condominium a taste of the nostalgia found in old coastal homes.   The floor plans are probably larger than one would expect to find on the Grand Strand.  The 1-bedroom model has 813 square feet, the 2-bedroom unit is 1177 square feet, and the 3-bedroom has an expansive 1460 square feet.  A well appointed kitchen, a clothes washer and dryer, decorator style living and dining room furniture, each home at Dunes Point comes with everything you need for a luxurious vacation. 

BRIGADUNE
This favorite Shore Drive resort community features large, luxuriously furnished 2 bedroom and 3 bedroom family size residences with 2 full baths, self-cleaning oven, fullsize range, refrigerator with ice maker, disposal, dishwasher, central heat and air, color cable TV, dining table and breakfast bar, sofa bed, telephone, well equipped kitchens, and a master bedroom suite with an oceanfront balcony and private bath.  All units are direct oceanfront with balconies overlooking both the beach and the pool.  Relax in the quiet safety of concrete and steel construction.  In addition to the oceanfront pool, other amenities include tennis courts, covered parking, designated van parking, card room, sundeck, beachfront shower, elevators, security, bar-b-que area, and convenient washer and dryer facilities on each floor.  The Brigadune has 108 total units.

ARBOR HOUSE
This resort community introduces excitingly new and creative designs for these 24 detached, single family homes.  The spacious 4 bedroom, 3 bath model, called The Palmetto, gives ample play room for a large, active family.  A roomy 3 bedroom, 2 bath version, called The Laurel Oak, is ideal for sharing with friends or relatives.  A 2 bedroom, 2 bath model, called The Willow, is just as great for empty nesters as it is for young professionals just starting out.   And every Arbor House floor plan has direct access from each bedroom to a bath -- for convenience and added privacy.  Tucked under the house you'll find ample covered parking for 4 cars with a convenient drive-thru providing quick access to the amenities nearby.  There's even a ground-level shower and private dressing room awaiting sandy beach goers.  An on-site swimming pool gives the Arbor House the final touch of luxury.
