WELCOME TO SHORE DRIVE --  MYRTLE BEACH'S MOST POPULAR RESORT VACATION DESTINATION

Umbrella.jpg (13885 bytes)Every year, more than 13 million people visit the Myrtle Beach area. It is second only to Orlando as the most popular vacation and tourist destination in the nation.

People come here for all kinds of reasons.   To relax on our beaches.  To play golf on the 100 championship golf courses in the area.  To take in our entertainment theaters where at some point in time each year you'll see just about every major star or broadway play you can imagine.  To enjoy all the attractions at our premier shopping, dining and nightlife centers such as Broadway at the Beach, Barefoot Landing, Myrtle Beach Factory Stores, Outlet Park, and other fine centers in the area.

Visitors love to try out the cuisine at the more than 1600 restaurants and fine dining establishments on the Grand Strand. To ride the rides and test drive the race cars and other attractions at our super amusement parks.   To swim and frolic at one of our great water parks.  To play miniature golf and reminisce with family and friends in the minigolf capital of the world.  To experience the upclose excitement and adventure of all the reptiles, birds and other animals at Alligator Adventure or the sharks and other sea life at South Carolina's only sea aquarium -- Ripley's Aquarium.  To watch the Myrtle Beach Pelicans, our new professional baseball team, prepare themselves for the day when the players are called up to play for the Atlanta Braves. Then there's deep sea fishing, parasailing, scuba diving, and about everything else one can imagine to do.  Like we said, people come to Myrtle Beach for many different reasons.

But for millions of those visitors, the best part of their trips is the time they spend staying in one of the many resort communities on and along Shore Drive. Silhou.gif (20282 bytes) Because they've been here so many times and have become so familiar with the area, Shore Drive is sort of like their second home, or home away from home so to speak.  It's where the best times are spent with the people they care about the most.  It's where everyone just hangs out and be themselves.  You can run barefooted in the sand.  Lay out around the pool.   Make sandcastles or go sailing with your children.  Enjoy tender moments with the one you love most.  We all become forgetful but you never forget a trip to Shore Drive.   The memories stay with you forever.

Why over the last several years have so many people decided to make Shore Drive their resort destination when coming to the Myrtle Beach area?  We can think of three good reasons.  shoredrivemap.gif (30429 bytes)Location, location and location.

The Myrtle Beach area is bursting at the seams with all sorts of new attractions and developments underway both on the North end as well as the South.  The Shore Drive area is located right in the middle of it all. Within 5 minutes, you're at the heart of Restaurant Row where the great restaurants are situated.  You're only 5 or 6 minutes away at most from the Carolina Opry, the Dixie Stampede, the Alabama Theatre and the House of Blues.  Within 6 to 10 minutes, you can be at either Broadway at the Beach or at Barefoot Landing.  Golf courses abound all around you.  One of the best fitness centers in the entire Myrtle Beach area is at nearby Kingston Plantation. And if you don't want to leave Shore Drive at all, you'll still find wonderful restaurants, fabulous nightclubs, and the longest pier on the East Coast right on the ocean.

One of the reasons so many people have purchased vacation properties in the Shore Drive area is that it's in an unincorporated part of Horry County, so there are no taxes nor sail.jpg (2862 bytes)other city services fees to pay to the cities of Myrtle Beach or North Myrtle Beach.  Additionally, homeowner association and other regime fees are typically lower in Shore Drive than in Myrtle Beach or North Myrtle Beach.  Also, the area has really matured in terms of vacationers and visitors over the last several years.  Vacation properties in Shore Drive are in hot demand.   For those who want to rent out their condos and units to vacationers when the owners are not using them, this is especially a really terrific market.  The problem however is more and more people are catching on to this strategy of allowing vacationers to help them pay for their vacation homes, and the sales market is tightening.

Another reason that vacation properties do so well in Shore Drive as compared to other areas is the attention which Coldwell Banker Chicora Real Estate has given the area for the past many years.  Coldwell Banker Chicora Real Estate is still the number one sales, vacational rentals and property management firm in the Shore Drive area and is continually growing stronger.  Coldwell Banker Chicora Real Estate believes in this area and leads the way in bringing about strong vacation rentals, a vibrant sales market, and prudent property management to further ensure and enhance the growth and dominance of Shore Drive within the overall Grand Strand tourism marketplace.

If by some bizarre chance you haven't already been to the Shore Drive area, you owe it to yourself to come spend a few days with us and see it.  Make sure you contact me, Debbie Foy, in advance of your coming, so we can plan to meet and I can show you so many things which make this part of the beach so wonderful and special.  The best reason of all to purchase any vacation property is because it's where you want to be!  You'll absolutely love the Shore Drive area! I guarantee it.
